Round-up of miscellaneous announcements post!
We collected all our long-winded question & answer posts on our new FAQ page! (Which you can access from the right-hand side of our tumblr, it’s right under the ‘mini empire’ link)
Thanks to Pasquale’s computering know-how, (amamak are computer-useless) you can now see any picture of ours in light-box by clicking on it from anywhere on our actual tumblr. Clicking on any picture on your dash will bring you to the post’s permalink, by the way.
Also, if anyone is interested in purchasing a print of any of our pictures that aren’t listed on Etsy (ie not mixed-project pictures), drop us a line and we’ll add an 8x8 for $25 to the shop!
Aaaand there’s still time to enter our giveaway thingy! You know you wanna!

On the topic of soft glows and amazing tones:

Don’t worry about it - we appreciate your specific interest!

First off, we have the film and cameras we use listed here. At the shoot in question, we used our regular 35mm camera: Nikon EM. (As Michelle puts it; it was made simple for girls to get into photography) Unfortunately, the film we used was Kodak Portra 400VC (same as medium format; it’s our go-to film). I say unfortunately because they no longer make ‘VC’ (vivid colour) but a vivid-natural hybrid, which probably acts the same way in regards to light but we can’t vouch for this first-hand because we’ve never used it. However, if you’re a fan of the soft glow/light effects, we recommend Kodak Ektar 100 film. It’s perfect for exactly that reason, has great colours, and as a bonus it’s way cheap. Since we haven’t posted too many Ektar pictures (and we don’t bother tagging them), here are a few examples:

Hope that helps!

Weekend Giveaway time!
Yup, we’re doing that gross, attention-seeking thing again. Only no freebies this time. If you people want stuff from us, we want something in return. QUID PRO QUO (can you tell someone just watched silence of the lambs for the first time?).
So here’s the deal: Shoot us a…shoot suggestion! We don’t usually have highly planned out ideas/vision/anything before going out and picturing, but hey, it can be an adventure! Just tell us an idea for a shoot and if it’s feasible (take into consideration it’s winter so either indoors or snow-involving or…you’re waiting 2 months to see it realized) and if we love it then poof! You are a new visionary/one-time creative director for Amamak! STICK IT ON YOUR RESUMES. We’ve also been mulling over the idea of having movie-themed shoots so if you have some suggestions for that you can throw those in too.
THE FUN IS NOT OVER. If we choose your suggestion, we’ll send you a goodie bag of mini prints and everyone loves little things in cute packages. You’ve got until Monday(February 20th).
What say you, followers?
